Sunday Golf ontstond toen een groep vrienden in San Diego besloot dat hun passie voor golf tot een bedrijf kon uitgroeien. Zes jaar later behoort het merk voor golftassen en -accessoires tot de snelst groeiende bedrijven in de golfsport, met een verkoopnetwerk van meer dan duizend verkooppunten bij grote nationale ketens en gespecialiseerde winkels.<\/p>\n

Het zelfgefinancierde bedrijf verdeelt zijn activiteiten gelijkmatig over onlineverkoop en de detailhandel, geheel opgebouwd door een groeiend verkoopteam. De aanpak van Sunday Golf blijft trouw aan het oorspronkelijke uitgangspunt: golf moet leuk zijn, en dat geldt ook voor de uitrusting.<\/p>\n

De uitdaging<\/h2>\n

V\u00f3\u00f3r de invoering van SPS Analytics beschikte Sunday Golf niet over een consistente manier om in te zien wat er gebeurde nadat de producten in de winkelschappen waren beland. Het team wist wel wat er was verzonden, maar het inzicht in de afzet en de beschikbare voorraad was afhankelijk van elke individuele detailhandelaar. Sommige retailpartners verstrekten rapporten op verzoek, terwijl andere deze informatie niet deelden. Sunday Golf maakte al vanaf het prille begin gebruik van SPS Commerce om contacten met detailhandelaren te onderhouden, nog voordat het over eigen systemen beschikte om die contacten te beheren.<\/p>\n

Daardoor moest mede-oprichter Galen Brunelle herhaaldelijk gegevens opvragen bij drukbezette contactpersonen bij de retailers en moest hij werken met slechts een gedeeltelijk beeld van de prestaties. Wanneer de informatie niet beschikbaar was, baseerde Sunday Golf zich op de verzendgeschiedenis, nabestellingen en de eigen e-commerceresultaten om in te schatten welke artikelen retailers vervolgens in hun assortiment moesten opnemen. Het online succes kwam echter niet altijd overeen met de vraag in de winkels, waardoor het risico ontstond dat er meer voorraad werd aanbevolen die in werkelijkheid niet werd verkocht.<\/p>\n

Het kleine verkoopteam van Sunday Golf maakte het nog moeilijker om deze lacune in het inzicht te overbruggen. Met slechts twee of drie medewerkers die meer dan duizend retailaccounts beheerden en zonder een buitendienst die regelmatig de winkels bezocht, had het bedrijf behoefte aan een betrouwbaardere manier om toegang te krijgen tot prestatiegegevens op retailniveau.<\/p>\n

De oplossing<\/h2>\n

Sunday Golf schakelde SPS Analytics in om giswerk te vervangen door concrete cijfers. Brunelle filtert het rapport \u2018Business Overview\u2019 per detailhandelaar om precies te zien hoe elke klant presteert. Nadat Sunday Golf zijn SKU-lijst had aangeleverd, was het rapportagesysteem binnen ongeveer twee weken operationeel.<\/p>\n

Aan de hand van een consistent evaluatieproces houdt Brunelle de afzet, de voorraadduur en de best en slechtst presterende producten bij. Dit helpt hem te bepalen waar nabestellingen nodig zijn, welke producten meer aandacht verdienen en waar assortimentswijzigingen de prestaties zouden kunnen verbeteren.<\/p>\n

De resultaten<\/h2>\n

Die inzichtelijkheid verandert nu al de manier waarop Brunelle zich voorbereidt op gesprekken met retailers. In plaats van uit te gaan van aannames, kan hij gebruikmaken van daadwerkelijke afzetcijfers, voorraadduur en prestaties op productniveau om inkopers te laten zien wat goed werkt, waar er hiaten in het assortiment bestaan en welke producten wellicht meer ondersteuning verdienen. De gegevens bieden Sunday Golf een steviger, beter onderbouwde basis voor de komende besprekingen over de retailplanning.<\/p>\n

Sunday Golf gaat nu de volgende fase van de retailplanning in met duidelijkere prestatiegegevens en een sterkere onderbouwing voor het uitbreiden van de juiste producten bij belangrijke klanten.<\/p>\n

From the Fairway to the Shelf<\/h1>\nSunday Golf began when a group of friends in San Diego turned their time on the course into a business idea. The challenge<\/h2>\nBefore Decision Intelligence, Sunday Golf knew what it shipped to retailers but could not consistently see what sold through or remained on hand. Access depended on each retailer. Some partners sent reports when asked; others did not share the information, leaving Brunelle with an incomplete and uneven picture of performance.\n\n\"You're flying blind. The solution<\/h2>\nWhen Sunday Golf put Decision Intelligence in place, reporting was up and running within a week or two after the team provided its SKU list. The results<\/h2>\nThe first surprise was how differently some products performed by channel. Several of Sunday Golf's strongest online SKUs ranked among the weaker sellers in stores, exactly the opposite of what Brunelle would have expected.\n\n\"Some of our top SKUs online are among the bottom sellers in stores. Without Decision Intelligence, Brunelle said he might have suggested more of a product simply because it performed well online.
