SPS employees and customers make big impact at charity auction

by | Jul 31, 2015

Through the combined generosity of SPS Commerce employees and customers, a total of $36,622 was successfully raised last week during the company’s annual charity auction that helps provide food, medical research, education services and optimism to those in desperate need.

On its sixth year, the annual SPS Charity Auction Committee hosted a silent and live auction to raise funds for five charities including:

Donations were kindly offered from some of the 60,000 SPS customers and hundreds of employees. Auction items ranged from signed professional sports jerseys to ice-climbing adventures. With several months of careful planning, and a talent team of volunteers, the committee was able to collect $36,622 in auction proceeds in just one day, beating previous years by more than $10,000.

The impacts from the auction were not possible without the generosity of all who helped contribute, volunteer and bid generously. What started as a small event, only bringing in around $9,000, has grown four times in size within a few years. SPS hopes to add more charities and reach more people in need as the event continues to grow.
