Apparel, Grocery, Home Improvement, Pharmaceutical, Recreation, and Sporting Goods Retailers and Distributors Sign with Software-as-a-Service EDI Leader to Offer Vendors Rapid and Cost-Effective Compliance Solutions
Minneapolis, Minn., Nov. 6, 2006 - SPS Commerce, the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), has signed with twelve retailers and distributors to launch EDI-enablement programs on their behalf since June 2006, targeting more than 5,000 vendors. These diverse retail organizations have outsourced their community enablement efforts to SPS Commerce in order to leverage SPS' experience in this area, minimize disruption to their internal resources, and more rapidly begin electronically exchanging business documents such as purchase orders, invoices, shipping notices and more with their vendor partners.
Today, SPS Commerce is managing EDI-enablement programs for the following retailers and distributors:
- Big Rock Sports
- Boater's World Marine Centers
- BTWW Retail
- Carter Lumber
- Loblaw Companies Limited
- RagShops
- The Vitamin Shoppe
- uniPHARM Wholesale Drugs
- And many others
“Boater's World Marine Centers teamed with SPS Commerce to make our EDI-enablement campaign effortless for us and simple for our vendors,” said Jay Jolly, vice president at Boater's World Marine Centers. “Our program was launched in late August and nearly a quarter of our vendors have already signed up. SPS' approach provides our vendors with a single representative that walks them through the program, answering any and all questions. This extra effort and flexible EDI solutions are the key to making this enablement program advantageous to our company and our supply chain.”
“Having EDI-enabled more than 62,000 vendors over the years has proven SPS' methods and technologies are beneficial and cost-effective to suppliers,” said Archie Black, president and chief executive officer of SPS Commerce. “We have seen an ever increasing number of these suppliers subscribe to SPS' web or integrated EDI services; often expanding their connections as their EDI needs grew. We are pleased to be trusted by an increasing number of retailers, distributors and suppliers as a valuable part of their electronic supply chain strategy.”
